Commemorating our 50th.
The village Playing Field Trust took the decision to commemorate the 50th Open Gardens event in a permanent way.
A Cedar of Lebanon was planted in the playing field in November 2017. The playing field is an important amenity that is central to the village. It is a well known landmark used by many visitors and delivery drivers. The playing field is also used as one of the main car parks on Open Gardens so it was an appropriate location for such a statement.
The tree not only marks the 50th anniversary but it has been dedicated to Alison Russell, a resident of the village who has seen all 50 Open Gardens and has, in fact, been pivotal in the running and organisation of most of them.
